The dreamy new track Back To Me encapsulates feelings of desperation with its relatable and catchy lyrics.

Yearning lyrics flood the chorus of the track, as the band ask the questions: “Is she all that you want / Is she all that you need?

Upon the release, frontwoman María Zardoya shared: “‘Back To Me’ was written a couple of months later while we were jamming in the studio as a band. The guys were experimenting with some new synth sounds and chords. I immediately went into the vocal booth, and the melody and lyrics came out faster than any other song, almost as if the song wrote itself. After finishing it, it felt like the beginning of a new era beyond Submarine. consider it an introduction to a new world.”

The track was highly anticipated, having first debuted when The Marías opened for Billie Eilish on her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour back in December.

Alongside the anticipated track, fans have been treated to the release of a second track, Nobody New. The surprise track features feelings of loneliness and follows on from Back To Me well with lyrics such as “Baby I promise, there’s nobody new / There’s no one like you”.

Zardoya states: “We wrote ‘Nobody New’ a couple years ago after we finished Submarine. Consider it one of the Submarine b-sides, still a part of that world.”

The relatable double drop is ready to get anyone caught up in their feelings and provides a strong follow on from their sophomore album Submarine

Submarine saw new levels of success for the band as it debuted at number seventeen on the Billboard Top 100, No One Noticed also reached number 22, which is their highest charting Billboard single to date.

Following these releases, The Marías are set to perform at Coachella next weekend.

Back To Me and Nobody New are out now via Atlantic Records
