‘Sandcastles 2008’ from Tough Cookie cements them as ones to watch
The group is on point yet again with another track to sonically please the ears.
Tough Cookie has done it again. Their new single, Sandcastles 2008, is a stellar track, which is so wonderfully laid-back that you can almost drift away in thought whilst taking a listen to it. When a track is capable of invoking strong emotion and, in this case, a sense of comfort so strong that you can get lost in the track itself, you’ve done incredible for yourself.
Upon listening to this track, one of the first thoughts that I had (and hopefully one that has a shared sentiment) was: ‘That was only 4 minutes?’. This is without a doubt an instance where you can be genuinely floored at how good this is, and also not realise the length of the song.
Heavy consideration is put into each moving part of this song, and it all blends in a manner that makes everything come together beautifully, from the guitars to the drums to the vocals. This is a really fun listen, and one I thoroughly enjoyed, as Tough Cookie feel like they’ve worked relentlessly to refine what they want their sound to be known as, and it shines every time they put out a track, this time absolutely being included.
Sandcastles 2008 is out now via Gravity Records.
